We are a worldwide, apolitical, nonreligious movement involving people, institutions, and public and private organizations in spreading the culture of kindness and the values associated with it.
Through a solid scientific research base, we promote the practical application of kindness within the social fabric so that it can generate real and transformative impact in community life, health, and individual, relational, and collective well-being.
A wide global network that contributes to the spread of kindness values in the social fabric.
Public administrations that have formally joined the Movement, integrating kindness into local policies and citizen services.
Cross-cutting interventions in education, health, environment, culture and economy, involving agencies, institutions and communities.

We envision a society in which kindness is a foundational and recognized value integrated into educational, health, economic, cultural and institutional processes.
We promote a model of human and social development based on empathy, respect and cooperation, capable of generating widespread well-being and cohesion.
Our vision is a systemic cultural change, in which kindness becomes a strategic competence to address contemporary challenges and contribute to a more inclusive, conscious, and sustainable civilization.
We promote concrete projects with the aim of spreading the value of kindness
From education to the environment, from health care to justice, from business to culture, from economics to justice, we operate with tangible actions capable of profoundly transforming the way we live and relate.
We bring kindness to schools, hospitals, companies, municipalities and cultural venues through workshops, educational programs, awareness campaigns, collective well-being studies and constructive dialogues with institutions, festivals, social projects and scientific studies with high impact on personal and relational well-being.
We challenge polarization and disinterest, counter systemic aggression, verbal, physical and psychological violence, and promote practices that regenerate trust, empathy and social cohesion.
Our mission is to bring people, entities and organizations into deep, systemic and measurable cultural change based on kindness as a transformative force and value in society.
We do this through a global network of active partnerships with schools, companies, media, institutions, research centers and ambassadors, because we believe that kindness is a social muscle and as such should be trained, nurtured and shared.
Optimism
Optimism is contagious: those who cultivate it enlighten their surroundings, inspiring others to believe in possibilities and not limitations.
Kindness
Kindness creates bonds, opens invisible doors, transforms everyday encounters into small miracles of shared humanity.
Forgiveness
Forgiveness does not mean forgetting, but getting rid of the burden of resentment, rebuilding bridges where there were walls before.
Gratitude
Gratitude changes our outlook: it teaches us to recognize the value of the ordinary and to honor the presence of others in our lives.
Happiness
Happiness is a choice of presence, born in simple gestures and multiplied when shared, like laughter that dissolves distances.
The International Kindness Movement is born in Italy, inspired by the book Biology of Kindness by Immaculata De Vivo and Daniel Lumera, which defines its scientific basis. A pioneering work that merges genetics, neuroscience and spirituality, paving the way for a new cultural and social model.
Felicia Cigorescu is elected Director of the International Kindness Movement, giving impetus to a new vision of kindness: global, artistic and systemic.
Among the first milestones:
- the proclamation of the world's first Kind Island
- the birth of the first Kindness Course accredited by the Ministry of Education
- the launch of the B-Kind Test, the first Italian psychometric instrument to measure the level of kindness, in collaboration with Giunti Psychometrics
A training course kicks off at the EOC in Switzerland, aiming to involve 6,000 health personnel workers. Pierangela Greco joins the Ethics Committee as head of IKM Switzerland, strengthening the scientific network. In Italy, kindness officially enters schools with an experimental program involving more than 5,000 primary and high school students.
